Dear Reader:
Male. Black. Gay.
23. Scorpio. Aspiring writer with occasional free-spirit romantic-idealistic-bohemian tendencies, drawing inspiration from the 1800s onward. Laid back, and open to opportunities life has in store for me. In essence, I am a Modern Romantic.
US citizen, born in Germany, raised in California and Georgia, and claim Paris as ‘home’ (though I rarely get to visit). I am a military brat. Though I hold a passport from the US, je suis un citoyen du monde.
I attend the University of Georgia, studying Comparative Literature. I’ve 30 hours before graduation.
I live life to experience, following the advice of Baudelaire “Enivrez-vous sans cesse! De vin, de poésie ou de vertu, à votre guise.” I use this blog to hone ‘this craft of verse,’ noting the ephemeral passage of life while doing my best to bear the lightness of being.
In 2001 I traveled to Saudi Arabia as a student summer hire for the United States Military Training Mission to Saudi Arabia.
In 2007 I took a break from college that lasted until 2009 as I regrouped and healed. I lived, I learned; or as Ms. Frizzle would put it: I took chances, got messy and made some mistakes. Learned quite a bit about myself and my limitations. Traveled again to London and Paris with the family for Christmas-New Years in 2007-08.
I’ve participated in Campus Movie Fest, Stillpoint Literary Magazine, and Atlanta Queer Literary Festival, the National Gallery of Writing, FACE AIDS, and D.E.I. Honors Society, among other things.
If you have the time, please check out This I Believe, a list of organizations I support and encourage others to support.

In a search for the Fates, I was drawn to your website. Externally we could not be more different yet a soul mate you are. I don’t know enough to sign up and get notified when you post on your blog, but I’ll check back. Peace. Cathy
